STAGING VERDI'S MACBETH is half workshop and half masterclass. Company founders Cora De Maria, Alberto Jona and Jenaro Meléndrez Chas will illustrate CONTROLUCE's experience in staging Opera with shadows theatre techniques and discuss the activities involved in it, from theory to practice. Participants will be given the opportunity in the context of the show to create a scene in the opera Macbeth by Verdi, using Controluce's drammaturgy, body movement, cardboard silhouettes, special lamps, screens and props for making the shadow work. Numbers are limited to 15 people. The workshop is free. Application deadline is 10th February at 12 noon mid day GMT (UK time). Application which should be by e-mail must contain an introduction or CV of the applicant and a short paragraph of why they would like to take part in the workshop.

STAGING VERDI'S MACBETH is part of the project "Italian Contemporary Shadows Theatre" organised by Controluce Teatro d'Ombre with the support of ICI London, Puppet Centre and the contemporary art gallery Rosenfeld&Porcini which will host the Controluce's performance HAIKU on 13th February 2014.
